In an initiative aimed at enhancing road safety and improving accessibility to state government services, Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) is set to host a license plate replacement event for motorists residing in western York County. The event follows the success of a similar initiative last year that benefited over 100 residents from the eastern part of the county.

“Winter weather can wreak havoc on the legibility of license plates and this event will allow motorists who are concerned whether their license plate is illegible to check with local law enforcement and begin the process of getting a new license plate delivered to them in a timely manner,” Phillips-Hill explained, emphasizing the importance of ensuring license plates meet legal standards.

The upcoming event is scheduled for April 25 from 5-7 p.m. at the Northern York County Regional Police Department's Officer David Tome Substation located at 6115 Thoman Drive, Spring Grove, PA 17362. Law enforcement officials will be on-site to inspect plates, determine eligibility, and provide assistance in filling out necessary forms, which will then be hand-delivered to PennDOT for processing. Replacement plates will be sent directly to recipients' doorsteps free of charge.

“All residents are invited to participate in the event,” Phillips-Hill stated, encouraging those in doubt about the condition of their license plates to attend the event for guidance and support in obtaining replacements.

The event aims to offer a convenient solution for local residents to ensure their vehicles comply with legal requirements while promoting road safety in the community.
